ART AID - Waronwant exhibition and auction

The auction was last night and my big 'Sheepie' was lot 6 and sold for £340 . I'm absolutley thrilled and speechless!. There were 10 bidders so I think I need to now work on planning my own exhibition. Tonight is an artists reception in the Ormeau Baths Gallery and I can't wait. There were 34 pieces not sold at the auction so that makes my reult even more exciting. Think we need to have a nice dinner out to celebrate!

exhibitions

Since my successful exhibition in Harlequins rugby club my Sheepies were noticed by the RUA and I got the phonecall to ask me to submit a piece for the RUA exhibition in the Ormeau Baths gallery at the end of May. I was so thrilled I could hardly speak and actually felt the guy had got me on the phone by mistake! SO I finished off a large garden sheepie and delivered it to the RUA. I felt as if I should have taken photos of the whole day!
SO my plans now are to prepare enough Sheepies so that I can have my own exhibition later in the year. I need to make 20 pieces of various sizes and then I will plan the venue. There is also the small detail of putting my affairs in order and set up myself as self employed. I also need to do a bit of work on my branding , business cards and labelling my work.
I have taken photos of all the Sheepies I have sold so that a proper record exists for my collectors/

Breakthrough

I was asked to exhibit two large ceramic 'sheepies' at an exhibition in Harlequins rugby club. Exhibition runs from today 13th April to 15th April, I attended the private viewing last night arriving half an hour after the opening to find that both my pieces were sold already! I felt so proud and surprised and absolutley thrilled. My husband and two of my daughters were able to be there and we had a fantastic meal afterwards. So where is my business now? I think I have two strands, the craft side where my smaller sheepies and goaties are sold at the causeway amrket ont he second saturday of each month in Coleraine, Northern ireland. Then the art side where my large ceramic sheepies are sold as pieces of art through exhibitions and galleries and commissions. I also got a commission last night at the exhibition so all hands on deck now.

Mail order

Sales are now getting stronger with our last market day a real hit. I also had an email order from a lady who wanted a goat and 2 sheep for her bridesmaids on her wedding day. I parcelled them all up including a wedding gift of a lamb and two arrived in pieces. I was really concerned that they were too fragile to move into on line shopping. So I looked up google to see how to send ceramic pieces.......why did I not do this in the first place?....... And they arrived safely. SO the secret is those s shaped polystyrene pieces in a big box with my sheep in bubble wrap floating in the middle!.....Anyone know any good supplier of s shaped polystyrene pieces?
Still have not got my web page up and running but on the case and will do so in a few days.
Busy making sheep and goats, lambs and kids for the present buying season which will be starting soon.
